What is GTM infrastructure?

Also called Go-to-market infrastructure.

GTM infrastructure is the layer a revenue engine runs on: one data model of accounts and contacts, typed tools that perform units of work, plays that fire as data changes, agents that decide, and the context they read. It is what keeps running when nobody is logged in, which is what separates it from the applications a team opens and closes.

The test is not the vendor list. If the scoring logic exists only as a filter in an admin panel, if a failure at three in the morning is discovered when a rep asks, and if every tool holds its own copy of the account, the stack is a set of applications however many of them there are.

The term gets used loosely because the boundary is genuinely blurry from the buyer's seat. A useful line: applications are opened by a person for a job, infrastructure is invoked by a schedule, a trigger, an agent or a person, and holds the state the applications read. An AI agent needs the second one, because it cannot open the first.
